Dear Ms. Hildebrandt:
This is an answer to your letter dated April 15, 1985 re QLAMBDA.
1. The development of QLAMBDA is described in the paper. Not yet implemented.
2. Q stands for ``queue''.
3. We were responsible for the development of this language.
4. The special applications of this language is LISP on parallel processors.
The name QLAMBDA is being changed to QLISP. QLISP belonged to a LISP variant
developed by Earl Sacerdoti, but that language has been retired.
Sincerely,
John McCarthy
